CITIC Heavy Industries Unveils 220-Ton Rigid Mining Truck and 90-Ton Pure Electric Wide-Body Vehicle

On October 20, during the 70th anniversary of CITIC Heavy Industries, the company jointly developed with CITIC Equipment a 220-ton rigid mining truck and a 90-ton pure electric wide-body vehicle, officially rolled off the production line in Luoyang, Henan Province. A self-developed scraper intelligent robot operation system was also unveiled on the same day.

The 220-ton rigid mining truck, designed for large-scale open-pit mines with annual output of tens of millions of tons, stands approximately 7.4 meters tall with a rated payload of 220 tons and a service life of 15 to 20 years. Equipped with a 1,864 kW high-power power system and AC-DC-AC transmission system, long-life rigid body, and multi-level safety protection, it enables all-weather, high-intensity continuous operation.

The 90-ton pure electric wide-body vehicle stands about 4.6 meters tall with a rated payload of 90 tons and a service life of 3 to 5 years. It features CITIC Heavy Industries’ self-developed operating system and controller, with specialized parameter calibration for extreme environments including heavy-load bumps and high-low temperature variations in open-pit mines. The vehicle offers zero emissions, low noise, and high stability, while reserving a standardized autonomous driving interface for rapid upgrade to smart operation mode.

The scraper robot intelligent operation system addresses the pain points of high-risk underground manual operations. Powered by CITIC’s self-developed operating system and controller, it features a high-precision, high-real-time, high-dynamic-response drive-by-wire chassis, integrated with visual detection and electronic access control systems, enabling autonomous transport in underground mine tunnels and remote-controlled loading above ground.
