New Tire Placement: FWD vs RWD Guide
When changing tires, many car owners will be confused: should I change one or two? Should the new tires be installed on the front wheels or the rear wheels? Even many tire shop masters are vague about this question.

Some people say "new tires are placed on the rear wheels to prevent slipping and loss of control", while others say "front wheels need new tires more, and the risk of tire blowout is low".

▍Front-wheel drive car: new tires must be installed on the front wheels!
The front wheels of front-wheel drive cars are like "hard workers". Steering, braking, and acceleration all depend on them. The wear rate is much faster than the rear wheels.
