The development of this new P Zero tire is a challenging technical battle. Among many innovative materials, recyclable steel is undoubtedly a highlight. In the past, tire manufacturing relied on virgin raw materials, but now Pirelli has taken a different approach and used scrap steel smelting for some materials.
This move not only cleverly realizes the recycling of resources and reduces the over-exploitation of new resources, but more importantly, it completely maintains the mechanical properties of virgin steel while recycling. This means that while ensuring the key performance indicators of tire strength and toughness, a win-win situation for environmental protection and economy is achieved.
Rice husk gray carbon black also shows its unique charm. It is extracted from rice processing waste and transformed into an important raw material for tire manufacturing and is used in tread rubber. Don't underestimate this material derived from waste, it plays a key role in ensuring the tire's excellent wetland performance.
Traditional tires often face safety hazards such as insufficient grip and extended braking distance in wetland environments, and the addition of rice husk gray carbon black has greatly improved this situation, providing drivers with more reliable safety protection on slippery roads.
The emergence of recyclable carbon black has also brought new ideas to the tire manufacturing industry. It comes from waste tire pyrolysis oil, which reuses waste tires and turns waste into treasure. The application of this carbon black not only reduces the pollution of waste tires to the environment, but also provides a new source of materials for tire production, further promoting the transformation of the entire industry to a circular economy model.
The research and development of bio-recycling polymers is also a major innovation. It is extracted from used cooking oil or tire pyrolysis oil and successfully replaces traditional petroleum-based polymers. In the current context of the global dependence on oil resources gradually decreasing and environmental protection requirements increasing, the emergence of bio-recycling polymers is timely.
It not only reduces dependence on petroleum resources and reduces carbon emissions in the tire production process, but also lays a solid foundation for the widespread application of bio-based materials in the tire field.
As a plant-based multifunctional plasticizer, bio-based resin has made an indelible contribution to optimizing the balance of tire dry and wet performance.
