On January 12, 2024, Wanli Tire, under Guangzhou Industrial Control Group, broke ground on its first overseas production base in Cambodia’s New Bavet Special Zone. Once completed, the facility will produce 10 million semi-steel and 1.2 million full-steel radial tires annually, marking a major step in China's "Belt and Road" initiative and the group’s global expansion. Attended by Cambodian Deputy PM Sun Zhantuo, Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin, and Jing Guangjun, chairman of Guangzhou Industrial Control Group, the project underscores deepening Sino-Cambodian cooperation. The $239 million first phase will yield 6 million semi-steel tires yearly, leveraging Cambodia’s rubber resources while advancing intelligent manufacturing, digitalization, and green production. This move enhances localized services, strengthens supply chains, and boosts Chinese tire competitiveness in Southeast Asia and beyond. Concurrently, Wanli Tire is expanding globally, with plans to showcase products in the U.S. and secure $20 million in orders. With 20 overseas R&D and production sites, Guangzhou Industrial Control Group aims to build a globally integrated, win-win industrial network, reinforcing China’s role in high-quality international collaboration.
