Recently, the 2026 Natural Rubber Industry Development Conference was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. The conference was hosted by the China Natural Rubber Association and Yunnan Provincial Agricultural Development (State Farm) Group, with over 400 domestic and international industry experts and scholars gathering to discuss industry development strategies and explore new chapters of win-win cooperation.

Natural rubber is a critical strategic material related to national economy, people's livelihood, and national defense industry. The conference thoroughly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's three inspections of Yunnan and important instructions on natural rubber industry development. With the theme of "Technology Empowerment, Ecological Leadership, and Industrial Win-Win — A New Journey for High-Quality Development of China's Natural Rubber Industry," the conference brought together national research institutions, industry associations, rubber full-industry-chain enterprises, financial and futures institutions, as well as representatives from the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries and countries such as Cote d'Ivoire.

The conference focused on core issues including technology breakthroughs, achievement transformation, ecological development, and resource sharing. Experts and scholars were invited to deliver keynote reports on industry technology system development, futures empowering physical industries, and global rubber market cooperation. Three parallel forums were held: "Science and Technology for Rubber and Green Planting," "Technology Innovation and Intelligent Manufacturing," and "Market Analysis and Futures Empowerment," conducting in-depth discussions across the full chain from source planting and processing to market competition.

Yunnan Provincial Agricultural Development (State Farm) Group is an important backbone force for Yunnan's natural rubber industry development. The group has promoted the "Insurance + Futures" and "Over-the-Counter Options" pilot projects, with cumulative disbursement of assistance funds exceeding 50 million yuan, benefiting over 90,000 rubber farmers. It has built an interest community linking enterprises, villages, and rubber farmers, driving individual rubber farmers in Jiangcheng County, Mojiang County, Ximeng County, and Jinping County to plant rubber over one million mu (approximately 66,700 hectares), with over 6,000 people employed and annual disbursement of raw material payments to rubber farmers exceeding 3 billion yuan.

The group participated in establishing the Laos National Rubber Standard System, driving Laotian farmers to plant natural rubber over 700,000 mu (approximately 46,700 hectares), effectively replicating and promoting China's poverty reduction experience abroad. The China-Laos Phongsaly Alternative Development Project was recognized as a global best poverty reduction case.

Li Sijun, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Provincial Agricultural Development (State Farm) Group, stated: "We will take this conference as an opportunity to promote the transformation and implementation of conference outcomes into development effectiveness.
