Autonomous mining trucks are entering a demand explosion phase. According to statistics, as of the end of June 2026, the cumulative shipments of autonomous driving systems for mining transport vehicles in China reached nearly 8,500 units (sets), with nearly 6,000 units operating online, representing a nearly hundredfold increase over six years. Leading enterprises have already achievednormalized operations at the hundred-unit and thousand-unit levels. Industry forecasts indicate that total domestic cumulative shipments in 2026 are expected to exceed 10,000 units (sets).
Since September, batch delivery messages for autonomous mining trucks have been arriving in rapid succession, with an accelerating pace of deployment. On September 14, LiuGong's pure electric autonomous mining trucks were deployed in bulk at a Hailuo Cement mine in southern China. On September 15, Breton delivered 45 pure electric mining trucks in a centralized handover and signed an autonomous driving cooperation agreement. Cidi Intelligent Driving, in partnership with Yutong Heavy Industry, completed batch delivery of 70-ton pure electric autonomous mining trucks at Jiangsu Chuanshan Mining.
Capital is flocking to the autonomous mining truck track. Since 2025, Easizon, Cidi Intelligent Driving, and Breton have successively listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, while TageZhineng and Boron Technology have submitted listing applications. In August this year, Boron Technology secured over 100 million yuan in financing from a joint investment by Rio Tinto Group, CITIC Group, and Xiamen Tungsten.
Products are also going global, landing in mining regions across Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with localized adaptations for different regional geological and climatic conditions. In 2026, overseas orders have approached a 90% year-on-year growth rate, and the cycle from order receipt to agile delivery has been shortened by over 30%. One enterprise reported that its autonomous mining truck shipments in the first half of 2026 grew 213% year-on-year, with vehicles operating stably in rain, snow, heavy fog, and extreme cold down to minus 40 degrees Celsius. The latest delivered models also support megawatt-level charging and 5-minute battery swapping.
Industry analysis suggests that the first half of autonomous mining truck commercialization was ignited by policy and safety imperatives, while the second half will rely on normalized operational data validation. The industry is poised to enter "systematic capability" competition, driving the mining sector toward truly comprehensive unmanned production.
