Henan Expressway's First Batch of Over 100 Flash Charging Stations Put Into Operation

On September 2, at the Xinzheng Service Area on the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway in Henan, a BYD vehicle drove into a flash charging bay. After the charging gun was connected, the dashboard battery percentage continued to climb rapidly, ultimately completing charging in just 7 minutes and 25 seconds. This is the charging efficiency observed by reporters during on-site testing after the official launch of Henan's first batch of over 100 expressway flash charging stations.

"The maximum single-gun power of these flash charging stations reaches 1,500 kilowatts," said a BYD Group flash charging business director. From 10% to full charge, traditional fast charging takes about 1 hour, super-fast charging about 20 minutes, while flash charging technology can compress charging time to under 9 minutes. If the vehicle's own charging power is limited, the equipment will automatically match the highest supported charging power, balancing efficiency with broad compatibility.

Strategic Partnership Between Henan Jiaotou and BYD

These flash charging stations are an important阶段性 achievement of the strategic cooperation between Henan Communications Investment Group and BYD. They have been successively put into operation across 119 service areas throughout the province, covering major expressway trunk lines including the Lianyungang-Horgos, Shanghai-Shaanxi, and Daguang expressways, radiating to cities including Zhengzhou, Xinyang, Pingdingshan, and Puyang.

Since 2024, Henan Communications Investment New Energy Development Company has added over 3,000 charging guns across expressway service areas throughout the province, with super-fast charging guns accounting for 20%, forming an initial expressway super charging network. This year, the company partnered with BYD to further upgrade high-power charging capabilities, planning to build and operate over 210 flash charging stations and more than 400 flash charging guns across provincial service areas. Compatible flash charging models can achieve "5 minutes to charge, 9 minutes to full," significantly compressing recharging time.
