The 2026 Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum was held in Fuzhou.
November 3, the 2026 "Belt and Road" Media Cooperation Forum was held in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Representatives from 100 countries, international and regional organizations, as well as 182 media outlets and institutions attended the event.
The attending guests stated that the high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative has become a widely welcomed international public good and the world's largest, most extensive, and most deeply influential platform for international economic cooperation.
The attending guests believed that media from all countries should work together to tell the Silk Road stories well, act as promoters of policy communication and people-to-people connectivity, serve as recorders and disseminators of Silk Road stories, and contribute to creating and maintaining a positive public opinion environment.
This forum was jointly organized by the People's Daily and the People's Government of Fujian Province, under the theme "United in Purpose Across Mountains and Seas, Harmony Gathers along the Silk Road". The forum included an opening ceremony, an exhibition on the achievements of joint construction of the "Belt and Road", the fourth council meeting of the "Belt and Road" News Cooperation Alliance, as well as three sub-forums: the 2026 "Belt and Road" Regional Cooperation Forum, the 12th ASEAN Plus China, Japan, and South Korea Media Cooperation Seminar, and the 2026 Silk Road Civilization Development Forum. After the forum, participating Chinese and foreign media guests will also conduct joint interviews in multiple provinces, regions, and cities, including Fujian.
